Where We Work: Old Sunbury to New Estates

Sunbury sits on volcanic soil, and the ground shows it. Older weatherboard and brick homes sit near Evans Street and Rupertswood, while Goonawarra and Rolling Meadows are mostly brick veneer with tile roofs. Newer estates towards Diggers Rest add smaller lots and tight driveways. Reactive clay and basalt under the topsoil mean slabs need proper reinforcement and control joints, and blocks falling towards Jacksons Creek may need concrete retaining walls.

Owners here care about their home's kerb appeal and resale value, so quality workmanship and a neat finish matter as much as strength. Sunbury winters bring hard frosts and cold westerlies, and summers turn dry and windy. Frost can damage a fresh pour and a weak surface can scale, so we plan timing, curing and sealing around the weather. Newer estates may have developer design guidelines, and crossovers go through Hume City Council. We check local council requirements before we pour concrete.
